Join Bartosz Dajnowski, Objects Conservator and Vice Director of the Conservation of Sculpture & Objects Studio, Inc., as he presents a three-session workshop about the use of laser ablation in cultural heritage conservation.  During the morning session, Dajnowski will introduce the process of laser cleaning, including concepts related to ablation parameters, the logistics of using lasers in museum settings, and an overview of lasers currently on the market. The afternoon segments will review a variety of successful treatments, as well as new developments in the application of lasers on metal surfaces and preliminary research regarding their use on cotton canvases. Questions are encouraged during each session.

1:30 PM – 2:30 PM, Session Two: Case Studies and Examples of Laser Cleaning Treatments
3:00 PM – 4:00 PM, Session Three: Current Research in Laser Programming and Future Applications
