The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts has an exciting opportunity for a senior conservator to supervise, direct and perform all operations related to the examination, technical analysis, conservation research, documentation and treatment of a broad range of three dimensional objects in the permanent collection and on loan including sculpture, ethnographic objects, furniture, wooden objects, decorative arts and textiles.
Engen Conservation Fellowship: Objects Conservation at the Smithsonian, National Air and Space Museum
Fellowship appointments are for 1 year, with a 1 year potential renewal. They commence in the fall and include a $37,000 stipend, with additional funds for relocation, research related expenses, conference registration and travel in addition to 3,000 for medical insurance. The fellowships will take place at the Emil Buehler Conservation Laboratory in the Udvar Hazy Center in Chantilly VA.

Each year the Conservation Department at the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden implements a maintenance program for its outdoor sculpture collection. For the 2015 season, the Museum is offering three full-time outdoor sculpture conservation internships spanning twelve weeks between May and August. These positions are unpaid.
