The Washington Conservation Guild (“WCG”) provides information and services on the World Wide Web at https://washingtonconservationguild.org (“WCG Website”) in furtherance of its non-profit and tax-exempt status. The following terms and conditions apply to any individual or organization that accesses the WCG Website (“Users”). By accessing the WCG Website, Users indicate their agreement with these terms and conditions. WCG reserves the right to modify the terms of this policy.

Use of Content

The materials on the WCG Website, including all documents and related graphics, are copyrighted materials. Copyrights and other proprietary rights in the materials contained on the WCG Website may be held by individuals and/or entities other than WCG. WCG expressly prohibits the copying, display, publication, distribution, modification, or exploitation for commercial or other purposes of any material on the WCG Website without specific, written prior permission of WCG, except for the purposes of fair use as defined in the copyright laws.

Linking policy

WCG grants permission to link to the WCG website provided the linking site must not slander or damage WCG, contain inappropriate content, or state or imply a relationship with WCG that does not exist. The linking site may not create a frame around WCG content or create any impression by any other method that the content does not belong to the WCG. WCG reserves the right to revoke such permission.

Use of WCG logo

The logo of WCG may not be used without specific, written prior permission of WCG.

Use of WCG name

The name “Washington Conservation Guild” may not be used in connection with any product or service without specific, written prior permission of WCG.

Disclaimers and Indemnification

WCG does not recommend particular individuals, businesses, products, services, or conservation treatments. Links established from the WCG Website do not imply endorsement of the linking site’s products and services by WCG. WCG’s Website and Newsletter are simply vehicles for presenting information from various sources. The publication of such information in either medium should not be construed as an endorsement of it by WCG. All opinions expressed are those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect the views of WCG, its Board of Directors, or membership.

WCG DOES NOT MAKE ANY REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, AS TO ANY MATTER WHATSOEVER, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE SERVICES OR MATERIALS CONTAINED ON THE WCG WEBSITE.

In no event shall WCG, its officers, employees and agents be liable for expenses, damages, or other losses incurred by Users as a result of using the WCG Website, or for special or exemplary damages, or lost profits. Users agree to indemnify and hold harmless WCG, its officers and agents, from and against any and all liabilities, damages, claims, or expenses (including attorneys’ fees), whether directly or by way of contribution or indemnity, for any claim made by any person or other entity, arising in connection with Users’ use of the WCG Website.

Submissions

All contributors to the WCG Newsletter are required to sign a copyright release form before their work is published. Persons signing the form do not forfeit their rights under copyright law, but they do grant to WCG a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to reproduce, distribute, and display copies of their contribution in any form or medium, including electronic form (e.g., the WCG Website). Both direct and indirect contributors to the Newsletter must sign the form, including: (1) authors, (2) speakers whose presentations at WCG’s monthly meetings are quoted at length, and (3) artists whose works are pictured.
