WCG October Meeting! Destination Moon: Multi-departmental Collaboration in Exhibits

Presentation from 6:00pm to 7:00pm in the Ring Auditorium

To create the permanent exhibit “Destination Moon,” the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum (NASM) formed a team of Space History curators, educators, conservators, Collections Processing Unit staff, Advancement officers, interactives specialists, communications specialists, design managers, and a project manager. This panel will share the collaborative process and plans for the permanent exhibit. The panel includes team members: Conservator Lisa Young, Project Manager Ashlee Prevette, Curator Cathleen Lewis, and Curator Mike Neufeld

Transportation to the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Independence Ave and 7th Street, Washington, DC 20560. The closest Metro station is L’Enfant Plaza (Green, Yellow, Orange, and Blue lines), the closest bus stop is 14 on the free DC Circulator, and the closest Capital Bikeshare station is at 7th and C Streets SW. Bike parking is available near the Museum’s entrance on Independence Ave. Street parking is limited, please read signs carefully for restrictions.

This event is free to WCG members, $10 for guests & non-members. Memberships are $35 for professionals and $25 for students. WCG just celebrated 50 years of supporting and promoting art conservation in both the DC metro area and worldwide. Membership contributions go toward supporting our next 50 years of programming and advocacy.
