White House: Conservation Efforts Past and Present

Our speaker will be Dr. Lindsay Chervinsky, Historian for the White House Historical Association. She will share with us:

  • The history and mission of the White House Historical Association
  • The role conservation plays in preserving the material cultural heritage of the White House
  • Preventive conservation and preservation of the White House public rooms
  • Conservation projects and treatment of historic furnishings and artwork
  • Future projects and planning for the unknown

Dr. Lindsay M. Chervinsky is White House Historian at the White House Historical Association. She received her Ph.D. from the University of California, Davis. Her book, “The Cabinet: George Washington and the Creation of an American Institution” will be published by Harvard University Press in April 2020.
