The Photographer and Videographer provides a vital service for WCG. People interested in this role should be familiar with photography, video recording, and editing software.
Roles and responsibilities are as follows:
- Record video of our monthly general membership meetings, if proper permissions are granted, or assign someone to record video if you are unable to attend
- Collect video release forms from meeting directors for speakers and venues before recording
- Edit photos and videos as necessary, using free and open-source software or other available means
- Upload photos to Flickr and videos to Youtube in a timely manner
- Work with the Communications and Outreach Committees as necessary
- Work with WCG Archivist to archive photos, videos, and release forms
- Update photographer/videographer handbook as necessary
- Work with IDEA committee to enhance the accessibility of photos and videos on our platforms.
- Typical time spent is about 10 hours/month outside of attending meetings, which includes editing, processing, and uploads/downloads
