Dear WCG members,
Now that the government shutdown has concluded, I am writing to update you about WCG’s 2025/2026 season. The Board was able to successfully host our first meeting on October 2nd with ArtFit 3D at the IBEW Building; however, other programming has been disrupted. November’s jointly-organized 8th Safety and Cultural Heritage Summit has been postponed (new date TBA), and WCG’s first 2026 virtual lecture—featuring Historic St. Mary’s City—has been swapped with the annual Three-Ring Circus. That means the 2026 Three-Ring Circus will happen in February.
Some additional good news is WCG’s upcoming December meeting and member tour remain unaffected by the government shutdown. I hope to see many of you in a couple of weeks, when we get to learn more about the Brice House in Annapolis! Before I sign off, there are a few quick reminders to share:
- Please continue to visit WCG’s 2025/2026 Meeting Schedule webpage for the most updated information about the upcoming season.
- The Three-Ring Circus call for abstracts has been extended! Please send abstract submissions to 3-Ring@WashingtonConservationGuild.org before the new deadline: COB December 10.
- WCG leadership welcomes ideas about prospective speakers/venues/workshops, and we are always glad to hear from folks interested in becoming more involved as Board volunteers. If you want to contact us, please reach out to WCG@WashingtonConservationGuild.org.
Yours in Service,
