Dr. Anderson’s presentation will address the intersecting issues of intellectual property, repatriation, and community engagement in relation to Indigenous ethnographic collections. She is currently serving as Assistant Professor of Anthropology and Museum Studies at New York University. Her work has notably contributed to research and policy development at the World Intellectual Property Organization, where she has served as expert consultant since 2007. Her connections to the Smithsonian are strong, as she has earlier served as a Rockefeller Humanities Fellow at the Smithsonian’s Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage.

Please join NMAI on Wednesday, April 29th, 12:00 – 1:30pm in NMAI’s room 4018 – 4019 (4th floor), for what is sure to be a stimulating presentation.
