The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) is now accepting applications to the 2024 Public Impact Projects at Smaller Organizations grant program with a deadline for submission of June 12, 2024.
To assist in expanding the impact, reach, and excellence of your public programs, these awards support a variety of activities that focus on enriching interpretive strategies, strengthening interpretive skill sets, and enhancing community engagement with public-facing programs. NEH’s Public Impact Projects encourage you to think critically about how your organization currently communicates analytical ideas to public audiences. Proposed projects should consider how you meet the needs of your community, what skills staff and volunteers need to effectively communicate complex ideas to visitors, and/or what untapped interpretive possibilities your site and collections may hold. Awards of up to $25,000 may support:
- Consultation with scholars
- Evaluation of current interpretive programs
- Development of interpretive plans
- Implementation of public programs
- Professional development activities to enhance the interpretive skills of staff and/or volunteers
