Specialist committees:

DEAI (Diversity, Equity, Access, Inclusion) Committee

The mission of DEAI is to articulate and implement a vision for a more diverse, equitable, accessible and inclusive WCG, both within our organization and the larger conservation community. Through regular monthly meetings and guided by a Board-wide survey, this committee is able to brainstorm, compile ideas, and prioritize areas that we believe would be beneficial to a more diverse, equitable, accessible and inclusive WCG. We divide our work into four main goals: (1) embed DEAI into WCG, (2) increase support for the conservation pipeline and early career development, (3) support development of DEAI education for membership, as well as (4) identify future local partnerships.

Emerging Professionals Committee (EPC)

The EPC group supports WCG by creating programming and resources that foster a professional community for emerging cultural heritage professionals with a focus on the Washington, DC-Maryland-Virginia area. Our goal is to reach emerging professionals from different career stages, specialty groups, and training programs to help them connect within the field, build networking, and find educational and professional development opportunities.
